Hi,

I know that ETKA is the VAG parts catalogue for VW group vehicles and is only (legally) accessible to dealers and a select few others. Is ETOS available to anyone that pays the subscription, even if they are just a VAG hobbiest?

I know ETKA is linked to an ordering system so the lucky few can actually order in the parts. Do these come from or via a UK distributor? TPS (http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/) perhaps?

I was reading the ETOS website (https://www.etosinfo.com/myetosinfo/start.do):

Within seconds ETOS can provide you with order data including price information* for all OEM parts from Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda and Audi. From a tolerance ring to a complete engine block.
Research the electronic parts catalog for the required parts and then quickly and reliably order them from your selected dealer* via fax or the internet.

and I wonder if anyone knows how ETOS gets accurate prices and if it is possible to set it up so I could order parts that would essential drop on my doorstep. I take it "dealer" in the above quote doesn't refer to Norwich Audi or Southend VW but more like TPS?

With the demise of VAG Parts, it seems impossible to find anyone that can get any VAG part apart from the dealers. There are a few people around who seem to be able to get almost anything but it involves a long list of parts and when the price comes back, way over my budget, I feel that I have waisted their time.

Any info on the subject would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

W.
