Hi,

I have many questions on the new Golf, so hopefully someone can help!

1) ACC suspensions
Does not appear on the official VW website configurator. Is this available? It would seem that people are quoting many options not available on the configurator, like keyless entry etc

2) DSG only on 5 doors
Am I right to believe that we can only get DSG on a 5 door Golf in the UK?

3) iPod
If I buy the top sat nav/large screen, does it come with an iPod connection somewhere? I believe iPod connections are superior to Bluetooth when it comes to control, info displayed etc. Alternatively, is there a USB connection somewhere or can an SD card be used for music?

4) Does anybody know the lead time to get a GT 140bhp CoD DSG?

Thanks!
Seb

1) Yes, ACC is an option. However it seems that the reviews all rave about the Comfort mode with the DSG gearbox.

2) Yes, maybe VW will release 3 door versions with the DSG next year?

3) There is VW's MDI in the compartment under the stereo. This is a USB connection and comes with the cables for iPod/iPhone. iPhone 5 is not yet supported. The new systems support bluetooth operations in full. See this video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_popout&v=py4_Cs3a7IU#t=232s)

4) You'd have to ask a dealer, but from my problems with VW it seems it has creeped over 16 weeks.

Great, thanks.

3) I was told that, on the new A3, album pictures/art would not be displayed when using bluetooth, but maybe it's different on the Golf, as would confirm your video link... Confusing!

IIRC they've traditionally not offered 3dr DSG models, its always been an odd omission from the range.

With regards to Bluetooth I don't believe A2DP transmits album art, only now playing info and basic pause/skip etc functionality

The album art and controls would be transmitted by the AVRCP support: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/technology/navigation-and-entertainment-systems/discover-pro

I wasn't aware that's possible but will be impressive if it works! Its certainly a very useful technology and far more convenient than plugging in the iPhone each time you get into the car, I always use A2DP Bluetooth for music streaming.
