Hi I'm looking at getting a golf GT TDI soon, I know there is different variations on the engines bhp, just wondering if there is a visual way to tell what power the engine has.

Im asking this as either the sellers dont know, or dont say. Also i suspect some will try to pass off lower bhp models as higher. Or have mapped them and advertise them higher

Thanks

there is a thread on here somewhere that answers this question. Don't go by the badges on the back as they can easily be changed. However i do believe the thread may appear with a search for badges or engine code

ignore the badges, check the boot for the codes:

100 bhp--74 kilowatt----code ATD;
115 bhp--85 kw---------code AJM;
130 bhp--96 kw---------code ASZ;
150 bhp-110 kw---------code ARL.
