This is my first post. I have driven Golfs for years but now current one (mark 4, 1.6) is due for replacement I am considering a Golf Plus because of extra height of driving position and more room needed for grandchildren's visits! I am not able to buy a new one - my absolute max would be £14k and would prefer to pay less. The 1.4 TSI seems to get good reviews but I am interested in owners' views. I prefer petrol over diesel because of the type of driving I do and manual over automatic. They seem as rare as hen's teeth - have not yet found one to test drive yet so got nothing to go on except neighbour's recommendation and internet research. Not fussed about going very fast (eg sporty versions) but do take motorway regularly for work and visiting family etc. I guess I am looking at a mark 6. Which models do you recommend? Thanks.
