Hi there, I have a 2000 model Passat 1.8T sport. The tickover has become very erratic. It gets worse when more things are turned on ie. lights, Air Con etc... It also feels a little flat when I floor it, but there is a power boost when I lift the throttle. Any suggestions welcome. Cheers.

Where would I find this unit, can it be cleaned/repaired or would it require replacing if so any idea of the cost. Cheers.

try cleaning throttle body . take off big rubber hose to the throttle body ,look in side you will see a butterfly valve ,this gets gundged up , with the engine stopped move the butterfly valve by hand and clean around were it sits inside the body I use a 'Q' tip with a bit of white spirit on it . All the gunge stops the butterfly shutting properly and you get an eratic tick over. Be careful and when putting the hose back line up the mark on the body within the white block on the hose.
