VGATE VS450 scan tool wont connect with car

i have recieved this for christmas but it wont connect with my car, i have a 58 plate B8 A4 2.0 TDI.

do i need to update the scan tool on the internet? if so how do i do it and where do it get it from?

you will probably find that its not compatible with the car ..

As Chris says, you need something that will read the UDS protocol over CAN - and I think your VGATE VS450 will not support UDS.

The HEX-USB+CAN (http://store.ross-tech.com/shop/VCHUC.html) will work prefectly. :)
