Having realised yesterday in a tiny bit if snow my tyres are useless (19" 255/35) I see Audi are happy to take £1300 for some new rims and rubber.

Been looking on eBay as a mate got some wheels and rims for his A8 and saved a tidy sum but 19" wheels n tyres seem quite rare. Also eTyres don't show tyres online at this size.

I happy to go steel for the winter rather than bad gangster alloys, just need to know what sizes I should be looking at to fit over the brakes.

Thanks in advance

Your engine would help as the V6's have larger brakes than the 4 cylinder

I have the standard 18" alloys on mine and put on the same as my summer size tyres. 240 45 18

i had michelin aplin pa4 at £205 each fitted and balanced plus £60 for the tyre hotel! (From kwikfit, Costco could not get them in :(. )

it has been pretty much below 7 degrees since fitting and they feel really good even when the temp is freezing, no snow as yet though but in cold conditions i have had no issues at all.

Should be able to take a set of 16" steels with winter tyres on then. I have these on mine at the moment. Tyres are Dunlop 4D winter sport 16/55/225.
Check the tyre prressure sticker on the inside of the drivers door, this should have the dierent tyre sizes / pressures on. i bought the 4x steels with the tyres last year £800 and they do make a massive difference. slightly more noisy on the motorway i think, but nothing to really moan about.
