aux heater

i have an a4 3.0 tdi with an option to turn on the aux heater to 'auto'. is it possible to turn this on in the morning to warm my car up without the engine running, would really help on these cold mornings.

PS it does not have the timer function ive seen discussed else where.

only when the engine is running if you turn your aircon temp to 25+ it will use additional diesel to heat the cabin

youre thinking of the webasto heater which can be used without the engine working.
