Hi guys, I'm a golf owner for almost 10 years, been through 3 gtis and an r32 the latter which I've had for 5 years.
Time to move on and I'm looking to get myself a nice 2.0 tdi a5 s line special edition. Saw one with 36k miles 10 plate thats within my budget. What comes as standard on this model and are there any extras I should be looking out for. Or indeed any pitfalls?
Any help greatly appreciated

Sean

Welcome to VWAF!

Have a look here http://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/audi/production/PDF/UsedCars/Refresh/A5/A5%20Sportback%20-%20Aug%2010.pdf for the 2010 brochure - that's for the sport back but the equipment levels don't change.

Cheers mate. So with the s line spec edition you get the best of both?

The brochure shows spec for special edition and then different spec for s line. No mention of spec for "s line special edition", or do you get the best of both? Also does this model have start stop as standard or is it an option? I've seen the same model advertised with start stop and other models don't mention it

Most models have start/stop

Have a look here Difference between S-Line & S-Line 'Special Edition'??? - A5_OC (http://www.a5oc.com/forums/a5-general-q/19853-difference-between-s-line.html)

Welcome matey.

Had A4's for nearly 7 years and like you an A5 is the next purchase.

Can't help with spec, but good luck and don't comp from what you really want, the right car will come along.

it was delivered to me on friday. and i havent stopped smiling since. such a sleek looking car. i love every angle and view of it.
havent that too much time to play as I was away at the weekend.

my first thoughts are... WOW!
what a drive. i went for the 2.0 TDI s line special edition. and i came from a 4WD 3.2 250 brake R32. so its never gonna compete. but it is still very good. quite pokey. and torquey. very responsive and feels quite nimble, given the size of the car. inside... i am still getting used to the start stop feature and the auto handbrake, but i do like both features.
i was literally blown away with the sound system. the DAB radio and upgraded B&O speakers make for one incredible listening experience. again, i havent had much time to play around with settings but stick in a cd and enjoy the ride!

Out looking at land today and could not resist.

Weather was very dull and raining and the car is extremely dirty, but you will get the idea.....

smashing looking car pal! what model/spec did you get? i love that colour, and the blade alloys. and theres something reassuringly satisfying about a dirty car, especially after a nice country drive through ;)

Will do Ham.
First impressions are like yours that the 2012MY is a great improvement all round on the previous model.

Busy weekend so I think it will be next week before the clean up, pic's and thoughts.
