Hi Guys, I have a problem with my Temperature gauge , the problem being the needle move up to 90 and then back down to cold the back up again stays at 90 for a while then falls back down again, I presume that it is the Temperature sensor on the engine but unsure where it is located ? any ideas

I have a 2003 VW Passat 2.0 20v ALT engine (petrol) see pic

Thanks for the reply smithy602179 I take I need to remove the big black air filter to access it , as I cannot see much ? Is it a easy job to do and get at if I remove the black air filter ? Thanks again for the response

HI, have you checked radiator coolant level, could be an "air-lock". ?

He means expect some coolant to leak away when you withdraw the sender. Also expect the O ring and clip to need replacing..
