Door Open Switch needs mending.

Drivers door of my 2000 octavia has this apparently common (and expensive ) fault - I have read that the lock mechanism contains the microswitch and so it all needs replacing. I would like to fit a pressure switch somewhere around the door to replace the microswitch.
Would I need a `press to make` or `press to break` switch ? or isnt this a practical idea. Thanks.

prob not worth messing around with, i know the latches are expensive now at just over £100 mark retail !!
