Recall: Steering software update

anyone else had a letter from their dealers regarding a steering system update? 2013 A4 Black edition 2.0 TDI 177

I popped in to my local dealer to try and get the voice system to work and they said oh can you please book it in for the steering update no letter or notification was received by myself. It can only be a good thing though an update?
Mine was registered June 2012 so I would have expected upto date software to have been installed to start with. Must be a gremlin somewhere.

Mine was updated when the car was in for some warranty work recently. I didnt notice any difference....

all updated, mine was delivered on 17th September.

they also found that the steering angle sensor was broken so they fixed that.

also had a 2.0 tfsi black edition quattro as a courtesy car :) in lava grey, looked mean

Wonder if this is what mine is booked in for. 2011 A4 Avant quattro tdi technic, Booked in for first service at 19000 miles, got a call today saying there is a software update, I'll be asking for a printout but anyone on here know if it is the steering? I thought the steering on the facelifted models was different to my model?

Mine had an ECU software change, not sure it it was 3.0TDI specific or not, the car makes a few more grunting and whirring noises before starting and after stopping, but not noticed any other effects.
