Is this legal to do, the wiring is simple to make these come on when ignition is on and go off when headlights are switched on (if wanted).
When my wife gets home she's bringing my LED H11 bulbs i bought off ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/) (got delivered but no one in to sign for them so had to be collect from sorting office) I'll get them fitted straight away to see how bright they are and take some pics.

Here's the bulb i bought:

H11 XENON WHITE HIGH POWER 7.5W CANBUS LED CAR FOG LIGHT LED BULBS (pair) | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251169339258?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

Has anyone else fitted LED fog bulbs?

The problems I've had with cheap ebay bulbs is they always throw another bulb out fault on the DIS, I kept getting my Left front indicator blown after fitting H7 Dipped and Main "100% Brighter" bulbs from ebay I kept checking the bulb, even got a new bulb holder but nothing sorted it till I removed the Ebay bulbs and put the standard ones back in!! I think the only real way of getting better lights is to go for HIDS, you can get the fogs in HIDS too, it's much more expensive but less hassle in the long run.

You can change DRL behaviour with vcds - change it to Canada if you have access to it and the fogs will be running all the time.

I'm pretty sure it's not legal to have the fogs on while its not foggy.

no its not legal chris. if you can see more than 100 metres then you don't need fogs. not sure how you would change one to make it a drl. maybe some lower power bulbs. after all a drl is to be seen, not to see with, like a sidelight.
incidentally, could HIDS be included in the swear filter do you think ?

one fitted not as much glare as the standard fog so thats a good thing:

Been for a 20 min drive and had no bulb out faults coming up so maybe i got lucky, my aim was to go with the DRL mod so i didn't go the HID route as they would be to bright but these seem to be good, I'll see how they look in daylight.

These do seem less glare compared to standard fog light bulbs so might get away with it especially if the wired up correctly like proper DRL's, so they are always on when engine is running and go off when headlights are switched on, they will look just like the round ones found standard on some new Volvos

Thats a nice mod , I might give it a shot on my A4 , can the fogs be coded with VAG com ,
I wonder if the car could be set up so the DRl's light up when the lights are off and the dim down when the lights are switched on like on the latest Mercs with Xenon lights .
