I have 58 plate 2.0 TDI A4.

I have reset the oil change interval display but there is not an option to reset the service schedule display which is due in 1100 miles?

Does anyone know how to do it as i dont want this car servicing by a garage.

Just incase anyone is wondering why i want to reset it.....

I have changed oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter & fuel filter

also checked brake fluid, radiator fluid and power steering fluid for condition and level.

Thanks for any feedback.

With VAG-COM cable.

Yep that's the only way to reset the inspection interval.

what is this cable? is it something anyone can use or is it something only a garage can get?

Will a normal ODBII reader do the job? (i.e. a fault code scanner/reader) or does it specifically have to be VCDS?

I'm pretty sure it has to be vcds as it requires access to the Instrument Cluster module and that there's 2 service choices to reset - Oil or Inspection

There's a scan tool called VAG405 I usually bring it to scan any car I'm buying for faults (and maybe knock a few bob off the price) it also resets the service and oil. There's a newer version now but I forget what it's called.

Yes I would like to know the answer to this question as I keep getting a "Service" reminder message and a "Beep" each time I turn on the ingition and its a real pain, I've had the oil and filter done not long back so have another 8,000 odd miles to go but this service nag has come on thorough the date/time and not due to mileage as since I've retied I don't do the miles I used too lol.

It's not a cable, well it IS a cable attached to a little box. Here is a more modern one than mine (mine was 129 yoyos these have really dropped in price)

It does pretty much what the ad says, it wont allow you to add new modules program keys etc, It does read codes put out service icon airbag light etc There's a map of members with VCDS on the site, none of them will try to get rich off you

Well the good news, I rang up the independent garage that did my service and he reset the inspection service message for FREE!!!! and said nothing needed doing till next year, so I shall defo take the car back there in February next year when the Oil etc needs doing! and they can do a complete full service then. I did call Audi UK about this and they wanted £161.74 then additional £112.00 just to change the brake fluid, its an complete joke the prices Audi UK charge, and I said what you going to do for the £161.74? they said just do a 144 point check but not actually do anything just check stuff like wipers, lights, washer fluid etc lol I said I can do those things myself and cancelled it .....
