Have a 2009 Skoda Superb which all of a suden has developed a problem with the spilt tailgate/boot operation.
The "soft close" does not pull the tailgate down tight when closed and neither of the two handle switches ( on the tailgate ) will work.
The only the way the boot can be opened, is to use the remote key fob which activates the motor snd releases it. I cant get the tail gate open at all.
Carried out a scan with VCDS and got the fault ...
00896 - Trunk Lock Unit ( F256 ) Implausable Signal.
I phoned TPS to try and find out which switch the F256 is and if they had sold many of them. The fella was unsure as to which switch it actually was but says they have NEVER sold any of the locking units !
Any help guys ?
