From what i can see on the net it could be one of two places,

either under the drivers door or more likely on top of the fuel tank

meaning the fuel tank would need to be dropped to access the filter.

any advice would go a long way, thanks.

yes, and the filter is a bugger to change as the fuel pipes don't like being removed so work them slowly and they will come and then diesel will leak onto your face lol

thanks a8 tech,

trust it to be so awkward!

i saw a video of a fuel filter change on a vw jetta where the filter was mounted at a comfortable high level under the bonnet

so none of the diesel leaked out.

why have audi made it so hard!!!!

the fuel filter ive baught from euro car parts has just two connections (in and out)

is this right in your experience as every video i watch of a diesel fuel filter being changed has 4 connections.

i thaught it was petrol filters that only had two connections.......?

Big thanks to A8 tech, the filter was exactly where you said it was,

raised the car, removed tray and it was there, it wasnt a difficult job either.

I left it over night to de-pressurize so diddnt loose much fuel,

only took a couple more turns than usual to start up afterwards.

well chuffed!

Hi a8 tech, should the system be pressurised/bleeding afterchanging the fuel filter?
