Just wondering what setups people have on their avants and any advice you can give me.
I have 94 tdi avant, will soon be getting a set of bbs rs, 17" 8.5j with stretched tyres and thinking of lowering 60mm on springs as coilovers are too expensive at the moment.
What would be a good size tyre for a nice stretch and will 60mm still be fairly comfortable?
I think i read somewhere 60mm springs can't be used with standard shocks, is this true?

i have dropped mine 40mm on lesforjer springs, £100 for a set, but am on standard wheels and tyres. my pic isn't updated yet and shows it as standard ride height, but after going 40 mm i wouldn't want to go any lower. i have standard length shocks, but replaced with kyb ultra sr.

You reckon it would be hard to live with at 60?

Depends entirely on the roads in your area id say? have you nice smooth tarmacced roads with little incline or declines?

Zollaf are you getting PM's?

Yeh the roads i use are pretty good! Maybe 40mm would be enough with 17's.
Zollaf could you post up a side on view of your car please?
