Hi.
I'm new to Audi and have just purchased a 2008 a4. It has a concert system with screen and was wondering if it would be possible to fit a reversing camera to it.

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks

no you need MMI for the audi reversing camera and possibly the tv tuner too

I came across this website but was thinking it was too good to be true
http://www.xcarlink.co.uk/product.php?productid=63&cat=4&page=1

It's a shame as I'm v happy with my car. Just wanted this one mod.

Thanks for the quick response a6_Chris

I've seen this before. I'm sure I've found another forum where a couple of people had fitted it with mixed reviews (they seemed to have the most issues with the Audi steering wheel controls) I'd just google the name and see what comes up.

Yes it is but not necessarily the Audi one.

My mate fitted a kit that looked the same as the one in your link to his A6 and it works great.

I guess it all depends how OEM you want it.

Hi there!

yes, please do! and with pics if you can!

The thing I want most on my car is the parking aid with the display and front and rear sensors after having it in a Q5 courtesy car.

official retrofits seem hard to come by, and very expensive the few I find.

This would be ideal for me, especially for less than £200!

thanks

XCarLink questions, tips, tricks, and issues! (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/367962-XCarLink-questions-tips-tricks-and-issues)!

Loads of info on the above site, including some intresting posts on how people have connected iPhones running tomtom and got to display on the Audi screen. It will take some reading but may give you a idea of what you can do with it.

Good link. Thanks. Everyone seems quite positive with xcarlink. I emailed a company in London called dynamic sounds who supposedly fit this so I await their response

hmm, that seems a lot to me when the kit is less than 200? 300 to fit?!

He said it would be 250 for camera and fit and 90 for the fitting of xcarlink. I thought it was a bit much. Was hoping to pay that much for a dvd player fitted too.

to be honest, i was expecting it to be no more that 100 for the whole thing. although im not gonna lie and say i know much about the process! Dont be afraid to buy the kit separately and then ring round audio shops and ask them to fit it. i have done this in the past myself

Hi. So I have had the xcarlink fitted by the local Audio shop. £300 supplied and fitted. The rear camera works a treat. But he has struggled to get ipod\iphone connected. Now I have two video inputs available from glovebox and would love some ideas of what I possibly could hook up to them. He tried a few leads from apple but none seemed to work. I use a Samsung s3. Would there be any way I could get this hooked up so I could use the phones sat nav on the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated
