I'm trying to update my sat nav maps and have ordered/received from eBay an updated disc of the 2012 maps, only to discover that the eject button to remove the existing disc has been disabled.

If anyone can offer any help, perhaps in return for a case of beer, then that would be great!

Thanks, I tried sending a PM to royster (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/member.php?138801-royster), but I'm too new to the forums to be able to do so...so if someone could do so (or at least point him in the direction of this thread) on my behalf then that would be great. :-)

Hi RHM1, that would be great, thanks.

If you can PM me, I'll provide my email/mobile and perhaps we can sort out a convenient night?

Im assuming you might know how to enable the DVD eject button, or should I do the research? ...and most importantly, what's your favourite beer? ;-)

What car are we talking about here?

For a MMI 2G High car

DVD Eject

Module 37 [Navigation]

Adaption
Channel 068- Ejection Lock
Change saved value to 0
Test
Save

Restart MMI - Hold in Setup + Central Contol Knob + Upper right inner key

As soon as I find out tomorrow what and where I'm working this week I'll drop you a PM, not familiar with the A6 mmi set up but I think A6 Chris has just posted the answer it doesn't look to much trouble.
:-D Don't worry about the beer mate I don't mind helping out.

Sorry, yes it's an Audi A4 (2008), and I'm almost certain it's MMI 2G, so thanks...hopefully that should do the trick!

That's great, many thanks.

A6_Chris has I think posted the required settings that need changing, so look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

Sorry - I've been having a few issues here so not been around. I guess Lichfield is a lot closer to you than Newcastle, but if things change and RMH1 can't help for any reason, you're welcome to take a drive up to me. Good luck!!

MF.

Fantastic stuff, that works for me, just let me know what time...I can't PM you my email/mobile yet as I've made less than 10 posts, but if you can PM me yours I'll call you tomorrow to arrange where to meet.

If possible, and if it's also fairly quick, I'd also like to enable the needle sweep, but let's see how we go for time.

Needle sweep is easy - go into Instruments -> Coding -> Needle sweep

Will pm number shortly, A6 Chris, I didn't think the b7 supported long coding ie needle sweep.

2008 A4 with MMI?

I'd say that's a B8.

Unless its a late B7 with RNSE which isn't MMI.

Right big thumbs up and thanks to RMH1 (and also to A6_Chris)...I'm all sorted and it worked like a charm, I even managed to talk him into enabling the needle sweep and lap timer! :o

Appreciate the support guys, it's nice to see a true community in action!

Anytime Chris, glad to help if you need anything else doing give me a shout.

I just wish the B7 had long coding. :)
