Loss of power on motorway

Hi there. Can anyone help? Recently have been driving on the mtorway quite a bit. If I lift my foot slightly off the accelerator and then push again I get no power...foot can go to floor with no response. If I lift and reapply pressure a few times it then suddenly kicks in agian and is fine for a little while. The only other thing that had been happening boefre this was that the car would stumble a little when trying to pull off at roundabouts or junctions and then pick up power after a little while. Car idles fine though.

Hi,

if yours is a TDi, it might be one of your charge pressure switches, I had a similar problem, and it seems so random. Sometimes if you switch off the engine and back on the power returns, although dont advise you to do this while car is moving. Two if the switches are relatively cheap to replace, but one of the is about £180 + Vat. If you have a mate with the same TDI, try and swap around the switches with his 1 at a time to determine which one it is.
