I have seen a very nice 2002 02 Audi A4 1.8 T Manual Saloon which I am very serious about.

Anything I should look out for or ask the seller?

I would appreciate any advice greatly, as this is my first Audi!

Thanks in advance

I would take the sump off and check for blocked pick-up on the oil pump- they suffer with low oil pressure issues- check the inside of the oil filler cap, if any brown/black gunge then the engine is heavily sludged and it might put the oil pressure warning lamp on when driven hard ! Other than that they are sound motors although a touch under powered - the 1.8T is not particularly torquey engine and needs working hard to make good progress !

The most important check is Water Pump, Cam Belt and thermostat/Housing been replaced, this could cause catastrophic engine failure if they go and you drive it. It is also a very costly fix as it is the whole front end of the car off. Also check its had full services including a long life one, ask what oil has been used in it.
