Any Problems with 1.6 auto

Hi all i hope you can help me please. I am going to look at a 1.6 petrol fsh full mot 58 plate auto at the weekend with the hope to buy. Its done 9k and is priced at £5500. My question is are they cars reliable and what should i look out for. It must be a reliable car as my mum will be driving it and altho it is just local driving don't want her to have any problems after all the problems my parents have had with there ford c max 1.6tdci auto. I have had a quick look about but can't see any real problems from what i have read

That gearbox will be DSG - the Fabia is based on the Polo which as far as I have read is a reliable little car.

Have a look in the Fabia and Polo (not split up) sections for info :)

Crasher (or any of the sponsors) could probably comment on the reliability and problems :)
