Have been suffering with climatronic problem for about 6 months now.Had A/C system re-gassed+tested.System sealed but since re-gas not worked properly.Will switch on/off every 5 or 10 seconds or so;can hear relay working.Results in revs increasing/decreasing making car impossible to drive with AUTO on...put onto ECON and fine but of course no Climate Control!Had all electrics checked out and told o.k...control unit seemed likely fault.Tried disconnecting battery for 1/2 hour...bit better until you revved engine...blows icy cold and hot TILL you rev...gave up again.
Just bought working 2nd hand control unit off e-bay and fitted....display didn't flash as other did but did not blow cold...however....can hear pump/compressor working and does not keep switching on and off!
Does the unit need to 're-learn' its basic settings as is suggested in Haynes manual?
I'm pretty sure the 'nuts&bolts' of the system are o.k..its just driving me bloody bonkers in this hot weather!!!!
