Lupo after market central locking.

I'm thinking of fitting an after market central locking kit to the wifes Lupo, (feel slightly guilty for chopping in her new Beetle for my Passat!) has anyone tried this and if so was it easy enough? Are the door buttons rod or cable activated?

I did it with my Polo, and it was rods. Couldn't get the boot lock to work though- there didn't seem to be a way of doing it reliably.
