automatic wipers

its in automatic even when i have it in manual low or high speed and it will just randomly start wipping at fast speed even when there is no rain and its clear infront of the sensor.
any ideas?

You need a fault code scan - I'm guessing you have a faulty stalk but don't use that as concrete diagnosis.

Ideally you need to do some measuring with VCDS to see what the sensor is seeing, also a spare stalk wouldnt go amiss aswell stated.
