I have the memory seats because my partner is short; I am in position one and she has position two.

On Friday I popped out of the car without locking but forgot this as I got back to the car and clicked unlock. As I got in I noticed the seat, wheel etc. was moving to position two! Is this something I missed in the manual?

Do you use a different key to your partner by any chance?

Nope, Only ever use the one key. The other is kept as a spare in my office.

This could be the problem. As you say you did not lock the car before pressing the unlock button again. The key stores the last users settings when you lock the car. Because you did not lock the car the last user's setting were presumably your partner's and hence pressing the unlock button simply re-transmitted her settings back to the car.
