Have some patients, you posted only 6 hours before your last post, people do have lives to get on with & will post when they have free time to help.

For a start you havnt given us a year of car, whether its a 140 or 170, mileage etc etc.

So you cant disengage from park very easily, would you say its just getting stuck & it is moving slightly or the lock isnt disengaging to move the gear stick?

Id say the lock isnt disengaging but i cant get it into another gear but i dont want to be too rough with it , but because it will go into gear your 1st bit of your post might be it?

Are you trying to disengage when cars on a slight incline?

yes does that make a difference?

In my experience yes, I've had a few moments where I've not applied the handbrake at 1st & found the movement from park to say D has been a little problematic only on an incline.

Something else to throw into the mix, when was the DSG gearbox oil last changed? Is there a reference to this in the service record handbook? It may not have been changed so might be worth considering...........

When i brought the car and that was only just under 2weeks ago the dealer did say the dsg gearbox oil was changed , how much would it be to have it done mine is supposed to be done every 40 k

Gibbi,

Are you sat down?

Right, 6-litres DSG Gearbox Oil @ total £63.06, 1 x DSG Oil Filter @ £11.37, plus 1.5 hours labour @ £55.00 per hour = Total £156.93 + VAT

This was through VW Audi specialist, not a main dealer too!!!

Given the number of miles it does on a change, come on thats cheap considering the mechatronics unit is 2k & gearbox is more than this, do the maths & choose which you'd rather do now lol.
