Has anyone seen a Passat or any VW car with a 1.8 T badge where the T is in red?

I can't remember where I heard about them, but I called my local VW dealer to get one for my 1.8T passat and was told they didn't exist. However searching on the net it appears they do and that they are oem parts too.

I have ordered a replacement 1.8T badge from Germany with a red T now, but was wondering why my local dealer doesn't even know they exist?

When I was told they didn't exist I also tried ordering a TDI badge all in red to use the T and was again told they don't exist. I tried for an all in red GTI badge, again told they don't exist. The funny thing was that I saw an all red GTI badge on a modern golf the day after I spoke to the parts team at the dealers.

Has anyone seen one of these mythical red Ts?

Does anyone know why some VW turbos have the red T and others don't?

My red T arrived today in genuine VW packaging all the way from Germany, it would seem that UK dealers are unaware of this badge, but it will be on my 1.8 T sport tonight :D

Here's the finished job :D

The supplier in Germany told me that the 150bhp 1.8 Turbo Sport comes with a red T over there but for some reason in the UK it comes with a silver T. I'm not sure if he's right or not, but I like it having a red T instead of a silver one.

I've noticed quite a few Passat drivers looking twice at the back of the car, I think it stands out a bit more.

lalaland is right, the red T signifies its a 150BHPWell mine's a 150BHP model and it came with a silver one. Aparantly UK cars have silver and German cars have red on the B5.5 models like mine.

I'm happy with it being correctly badged now, plus it always gets a second look from people with 1.8T passats:D
