Hi guys,
A nice and easy question for you!
I need to jack my mk3 Golf up and support it on axle stands while I change the oil. In the past I've always used ramps and I'm not sure about where to place the axle stands. Haynes Manual says put the axle stands under the vehicle jacking point on the sills, using a block of wood with a groove cut in it in between axle stand and the sill...
Is there any reason why I canīt just put the axle stands under the axle or any other part of the car, so that I don't have to mess around cutting up blocks of wood?
