Good news! On phoning my dealer for the monthly "what build week are we currently looking at?" call, I got a different answer... it arrived in the UK this week! :D

I've been told it should be with them in something like 10-14 days. How does this compare to peoples experiences? Also, what sort of times does a PDI add on?

Thats good news, congrats.

As for the PDI?
Personally I wouldn't let them touch it with a barge pole and would seriously recommend getting a trusted detailer to do the work for you. Yes it will cost, maybe around £400 - £500 I'm guessing but it will be as good as new.

Its not the first car I've saw from a dealer "New" with swirl marks on the paint / holgrams / micro marring etc etc etc.

Sorry I don't know your circumstances but when you've just paid a decent amount of money on a New car you want it to look "NEW!!"

Do some research and you'll see what I mean...................sorry to hijack your thread and hope you really enjoy your new car when it arrives.

PDI isn't just exterior prep Jim - they check everything works/functions such as MMI, every button and various mechanical parts before being handed over to the customer ;)

Hi Chris, I know that mate.........I've had several new cars myself over the years and that parts fine of course.

I'm thinking more of the actual paintwork condition as you know.................there's been more than a few threads on here and other sites about the way they're handed over in "As new" condition, which is sometimes just awful.

Below a few examples of what I mean.....

Jim, you have nothing to worry about. It's already agreed that the car will be handed over with the delivery vinyls still on and my detailer will be doing all the prep, fitting plates etc. I'm going to go for one of the (flavour of the month) nano-sealants on the Audi and see how it fares. Wolfs or Ceramishield are looking most likely.

Any ideas on timeframes though!?

Spoke to my dealer yesterday who said the car arrives at dealership coming Monday, this was after the last update of hitting the UK two weeks ago. Hope this helps.

To update, it arrived at the Dealer yesterday. PDI booked for Monday, my Detailer is working on it on Thursday and I will be collecting it on Friday afternoon.

We're spending the weekend up in Manchester so I've got a 220 mile drive home to get to know it too. Can't wait!
