The car is 2004 Passat Estate 1.9TDI which I snapped the fuel flap off squeezing past too hasty after filling up. (It seems a few others have done the same, but its of little consolation finding out you are not the only stupid person on this planet)
I have the snapped off flap intact but can't see any part number or such.
Now, trying to get a (cheaper!) replacement seems to raise conflicts.
I have read that, though they look the same, the saloon and estate versions are not compatible.
Also, it would seem that fuel flap on B5 versions pre year 2000 are different from post year 2000.
Can anyone help with a definitive answer so I don't go chasing the wrong part?
