Hi everyone

I've just bought a (new to me and I'm quite excited about it coz I've wanted a Golf for a LONG time) 93 Golf driver 1.8.

Liking the car overall so far, but there's one or two wrinkles to iron out!

The clutch seems to be travelling quite far before finding the biting point and then just after it does there's a sort of hissing noise until I let the pedal up completely, when it disappears. No slip or anything when driving. I've ben told the clutch cable may just be too tight?

Cheers

Sounds like a noisy release bearing.

Does it squeak between changes as well ?

Yeh, it makes the same hissing noise when changing in all gears - although I woudln't describe any of the noisesas a squeak!

If it is a release bearing, do you think I could leave it a while, or get it looked at asap....?
