dash display

i have recently acquired a 1.9 tdi estate and was wondering why the dash display starts to fade the longer i drive it until its no longer readable , my previous passat only did it on the very rare hot days of summer when i 1st turned it on but used to reappear once i started driving are they fitted with any kind of cooling to them (i know its a silly idea ) or is it best to replace dash display

This place www.lcdautotech.com (http://lcdautotech.com) makes a do-it-yourself replacement kit. I bought the DIY kit from them and replaced my display. It looks great now and it never fades no matter how hot the weather gets, even with the car sitting in the sun with the windows rolled up.
