Decent Independants around here are rare,Bedrock Veedubs in Motherwell are pretty good but I have a deal with the main dealer in Wishaw which I have found to be excellent for service and cost etc. The dealer is VerveVW at Bogside corner and they are way cheaper than any indy for me.

I have to say I use Verve at Dalmarnock in Glasgow and they have always been professional and helpful. A 1,000,000 times better than that little rip off merchant Arnie.

I've heard of this A for Audi set-up in Clydebank - do they do VW as well?

Also, I've seen signs for a garage in Edinburgh which claims to be a "German Car specialist" and has VW, Audi and BMW logos on it's sign. Unfortunately I didn't get the name, but it's just off Slateford Road.

I know of this last one, or at least I have seen the sign for it for a good number of years (maybe 15+) but can't comment on it for good or bad : it is off Slateford Road which is to the West of the city centre, it's across from Pentland Land Rover, opposite the traffic lights at the bottom of Craiglockhart Avenue and is up a bumpy track/lane
Sorry can't help any more but maybe there is someone that has dealt with them ?

Here is a for A for Audi web sitehttp://www.a4audi.co.uk (http://www.a4audi.co.uk/) I have went to see there set up and they seem very professional. I have been quoted £180 + vat for a 30000 miles service on my Passat 130 tdi. My car has still got 1600 miles before my car is due its service. When I visited I was told that if I wanted my car serviced then there was a 3 week waiting list so that can only be good if he is that busy.

Can I also say I have no association with this company and have never used them. But I plan to use them once my car is due its service and that should be around January.

I will add more comments then.

Helps this helps.

O know someone who used the Edin guy and was less than impressed.
They did the timing on his A4 TDI and scratched the bumper in the process but because he picked it up late after work and they had parked it away from the street lights he didn't know till it was too late.
Whole assembly wasn't quite right the spacing around the headlight looked wrong and the bonnet sat high at one side.
And to top it all they took an extra day to do it with little explanation beyound "well we were a bit busy"
