Fuel gauge problem

Hello,

I've noticed that quite often the fuel dial on my A4 keeps getting stuck on full (which would be great if the tank was always full to!), but then normally it will eventually drop back to the actual level of fuel, or sometimes if i tap lightly on the gauge then it will go back to its normal level.

Has anyone else had this problem? Or knows if its easy/cheap to fix? Its not a major problem, its just ruddy annoying as sometimes i can leave home with half a tank and complete whole trips with the fuel guage still showing on full for the whole journey!
