Luggage Retention Net / roller - question? (2012 Avant)

Hello took ours off to get some bikes in the back. Having a bit of trouble putting it back on, it says in the handbook put the seats forward and then line up and slide the retention bar across to the left - Done that but the red safety tabs are still showing. I then put the seats back in the upright position but the retention bar is does not click in properly. Eventually took it off the seats and clicked it in position and the safety tabs show it is sitting in position - but it is not attached to the seats. Any thoughts?

There are two ways of fixing the roller with the net. The usual position (i.e. with rear seats up) is to click it on to the two tabs, one either side of the car. If the safety buttons are not showing, then it's in place. It does not fix to the seats. With the seats dropped, the bar slides on to the two fixings in the seat back and you can ignore the safety buttons - those aren't used with the bar in this position as it's very obvious when the roller is in place.

So I think from what you say you have it correct.
