Hi,

The other day I lifted the bonnet and realised there was a loose valve/pipe.
I do not know what it is, so I was wandering if you guys can help me out here.

What is it used for?
Is it Costly?
Would I need to take it to Audi to get it sorted?

Your help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks

pretty sure that's part of the cars activated charcoal filter system. there's a charcoal filled canister in the wing that stores vapours from your fuel tank. the valve opens, usually when the engine's hot and idling, and then the vapours are drawn into the inlet manifold to be burned. if you can see any part number on the valve phone audi with it. the parts dept will be able to tell you what it is and how much. if it is what i think it is, audi call it an ACF valve.

did you try to fix it or was it a previous repair ?

I tried to put super glue on it and hold it in place as a temporary fix. That did not work.

It does look like a previous repair though, since I have had the car, It lags, feels like it's not running at optimum and drinks petrol like there is no tomorrow.
