RNS 510 Problem

Have problem with rns 510 sat nav(Passat CC 09 plate) after tuning it on it shows only welcome screen,nothing is happned if i press any buttons:mad:.Any ideas what it can be?? possible to fix it or i have to replace whole unit?

Try resetting the unit as follows:

Something else you could try only if the unit came factory fitted (and therefore paired to the car) is disconnect the battery for 10 or so minutes and reconnect. You might have to reset a few things when you come to reconnect the battery, such as window opening etc.

If none of those work, it might need interrogation with VCDS, or worse the HDD might have packed up (do you hear a steady constant "ticking" from the unit if you listen carefully?)

i try do what you told me but non of them brought it to life so i think it my by hdd or worse motherboard.thanks

I have the same problem. 2009 Passat CC. Anyone have any solutions? Was working fine, then wouldn't turn on after a quick stop at a service station. Tried soft reset and disconnecting the battery.

Don't know what cause that problem but i had to replace unit.
