Firstly, "Hello". This is my first post!
Has anyone any experience of the dedicated wiring kits available for towing electrics. I'm about to fit a detacable towbar to our 2002 saloon and wondered if it was worth the extra money to get the VW wiring kit. Does it literally just plug in? Does it de-activate the rear parking sensors? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Rich.

I got the dedicated wiring kit for my 2002 TDi sport. In my opion yes it is worth it. I plugs in between the light clusters and the cables and is very easy to do.

You don't have to splice in any wires into the lights loom, however on mine you did have to connect it to the 12v line for the accessory point in the boot, but this is hardly difficult. Mine also came with the relay box attached as well. Got mine from Towequipe for £43 and the westfallia tow bar cost £165 from same place.

As for the rear parking sensors, my car doesn't have any so I don't know about that, but I am sure if you call them they could advise you.
