Hi guys, new to the site so thought i'd introduce myself and ask for a little help...

I purchased a 2007 Audi S3 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002VYT5ZE/) about 8 months ago and need some help... I got the car serviced last week and was informed that it looks as if the alternator went on fire at some stage in the cars past. The car has ran perfectly since i've got it and everything seems to have been replaced properly apart from 1 part. For some reason the inlet manifold wasnt changed along with the alternator, engine cover etc at the time of repair... Theres a 2008 date on the replacement engine cover making me wonder why if the car was only a year old and under warranty, the manifold wasnt replaced? I missed it when i bought the car due to the large engine cover and immaculate state of the rest of the engine bay & car in general. I know, rookie mistake not to remove the engine cover. But once the covers off you can clearly see the corner of the manifold has melted. As i say the car runs perfectly so the damage is only cosmetic but as someone who has a little OCD and takes pride in all my cars, i'd like to replace the part. Would def put off future buyers if i ever decide to sell the car too...

Trouble is, inlet manifolds dont seem to easy to come by, so question is would anyone know where to get 1? I dont really wana spend the £400+ to get a brand new 1 from Audi so would prefer a 2nd hand or salvaged part... Or maybe even an after market 1?

Could anyone recommend a specialist audi breakers that i could contact? My 1st Audi (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00465NB7E/) (Previously a Ford Focus RS man), so dont have any contacts yet...

Out of interest, also wondering if alternator failures are commoun on S3's?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated...

Cheers guys... Heres a pic of the wagon in question...

If its been running fine & no obvious issues resulting from, then leave the cover over it & forget about the issue.
