TDI Auto gearbox prob

Hi all wonder if anyone has some much needed advice. I have an 02 80,000 tdi golf. The automatic gearbox which also has tiptronic change on it has started to play up. at some point over about 75mph the gearbox appears to slip and the revs just increase it can sometimes be avoided if i gradually increase speed but not most times. can also occur during kick down at lower speeds. please advise do i just need the gearbox reset by vw? didnt you get it fixed ? my golf revs and wont change between 4 th and 5th tiptronic tdi 115bhp auto

:confused: No not had it fixed as im unsure whether its repairable, have you any ideas?

sounds like clutch plates slipping to me.

:confused: not sure if thats good news or not. when i had my a4 they adjusted the gearbox via a computer, as it was holding gear for too long. im wondering if vw can do the same with this gearbox???????

Correct amount of fluid in the box?

I thought that this was uncheckable and non serviceable?

Yes, but that doesn't mean it can't leak out ;)

hi got exactly the same problem with my golf tdi had new air mass meter fitted and gearbox oil changed ,still same problem. any news on your prob barry

no sorry mate not gone to garage yet, lack of funds at mo, you know how it is. i will paste a notice as soon as i have got to bottom of it though
