Hi,

Anybody recommend a good car stereo that will let me stream music from an iphone via bluetooth AND do handsfree answering and making calls etc?

I have a 53 reg 1.9tdi. Who made the OEM car stereo for this model? Blaukpunkt?

Cheers.

Leave the stereo as it is and get a Parrot Mki 9200 http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits/parrot-mki9200. Does everything you need to - bluetooth handsfree with an excellent background noise cancelling speaker voice activated, which does not need to be 'trained', also usb and iphone lead run to the glovebox for your music, although you can run iphone music through bluetooth.

I got it from these guys - http://www.incarhandsfree.co.uk/ who came and fitted it outside the office. It is neatly done as shown in the picture. 16325
The remote control is on the drivers door armrest, just above the window controls.

Hi,

Many thanks for that. I think I'll have a look at that kit.
Is the screen detachable? The mki 9100 has a smaller screen which is even more discrete but monochrome. How did you affix the remote control?

Cheers.

It's stuck on with some kind of double sided stuff, secure enough, and detachable

Mind you, forgot to mention that you need a special cable if you have a BOSE amplifier, in order to run the music through all speakers, otherwise the music gets played through the front two speakers only.
