VW Comfort Control Module 1JO959799 Central Locking ECU

I have a 2002 Passat Estate 1.9 TDI 130 Sport.
According to the manual the CCM module P/No is 1JO959799B
Could someone let me know if a CCM with P/No 1JO959799 (no B suffix)
will work OK, and what the differences are.

When I went to order some parts (nothing to do with the CCM) I was told that the part I wanted had been superseded by a different part. This part carried the same part number but had a different suffix.

If something is known to VW to be "badly designed" they often issue a revised item. They start with the generic #XX ### ### number pattern, then move to #XX ### ###A and then B and so on. What you have is a "better" version of the original CCM.

Many thanks for the info, I have not actually checked what version I have. From what you have said maybe the one with no suffix will work OK then?

It would, but I'd want the latest version release - the fact that there is one suggests something has been ironed out or corrected
