Quick question

Looking at buying my first A4 (moving from c class) as I need an estate and really like the A4 Avant.

Only do 8000 miles per year so looking at petrol 2-3 years old.

The most available seems 1.8 TFSI but from the stats the 2.0 TFSI is more powerful and slighty better on economy.

Is this right or am I missing something.

Hoping to drive some next week if the dealer can find me a 2.0.

Any advice / opinions you can give me on 1.8 v 2.0.

Many thanks

Hi there

I normally lurk in the C6 forum but am thinking of an A4 soon.

I drove a B8 1.8T 120 as a loan car recently and was surprised to find out it was the lower powered version. Having also driven the 2.0T I would say the 1.8 was also slightly more relaxed.

I guess it comes down to budget (not just for the car but for tyres too!) but I personally would recommend a look at the 1.8s.

If you are doing low miles then go for a 2.0 ... in my opinion the 120PS 1.8 is under powered. The A4 is a heavy car

The OP could always go for the 160PS 1.8
