Aircon stops when select fan speed 3/4

My Condensor on my 2000 VW Sharan has just been changed and the Air-Con now cools although only when set to 1&2. There is no airflow until I switch to 3. The air is cool although the A/C light goes out and then warms again. Has anyone heard of this ? thanks

I have changed the fan speed switch. It has a resister built into the back of it on my Sharan and this has fixed it. All told £20.

Hello to both of you.

I've had exactly the same problem. I'm interested to hear if the second poster managed to fix this by changing the switch.

Any tips on changing the switch? I've had a quick look in that area, and there's no obvious way of removing the panel. I want to avoid snapping anything if I can!
