I am gonna buy a used Golf GT Tdi this week :approve: and have looked at a few, BUT....

I remember having a conversation with someone who said that there was a phone number to call with your Vin, and VW would give you any info about the car you wanted, the BHP for example. Is this true? If so, does anyone kow what it is?

The car i am most interested in has two red characters on the back, but its advertised as a 115BHP car. Is this just an aftermarket badge addition?

:1zhelp: , please.

The best way to check the power is with the engine number. I assume it will be a PD engine, if they claim its a 115 - so it will have 4 numbers on the block, after three letters, which mean

ATD____ : PD100 - 100bhp
AJM____ : PD115 - 115bhp (as per claim)
ASZ____ : PD130 - 130bhp.

Just check the engine itself - the best way. :D

I have found that all the insurance companies i tried got the spec wrong. They seem to admit, and accept the fact that they get it so wrong all the time.
