Not sure if you have noticed, but it seems like the Audi Music Stream app is now available on iOS. This app allows you to stream internet radio directly to the car using the wifi connection. Although the caveat being that the MMI needs to be 11/2011 onwards, so maybe time for you all to update.

Has anyone managed to get this application working?

I have been using TuneIn Radio (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tunein-radio/id418987775?mt=8) for this purpose for a couple of years now. It works very well and I often listen to New York Public Radio (an excellent service) and other weirder ones from time to time.

I don't know what Audi brings to the table.

Cool - downloaded and tried with a 4s yesterday - worked fine with phone connected via blue collar ami lead - selected app and chose station streaming via 3G - display on mmi still showed iTunes song listing but played the streaming radio station instead

I now have the app... just no car to try it with (yet)! :)

Yeah same problem I have the app but waiting on the delivery of my 12 plate car. Although the app looks badly designed. Now they just need to bring it up to the standard of BMW ConnectedDrive, with Facebook twitter and Calendar integration.
