Ive got a mk4 golf GT TDi 130 and want it remapped. Ne1 of u had a remap? if so wot sort of power did u have it mapped to and what were the results like?

Hi,
I have a Bora TDi PD 115. Had it remapped from an associate of chipboost.com. On paper the output of mine should be about 145bhp. I could immediately tell the difference of how the engine revved more freely and the power surge dosn't just come in as one big lump.

It does take a few hundred miles of driving before it 'beds in' and you realise the full potetntial. With just a remap and no other mods, you can expect around 170-175bhp.

Mine's been "remapped" 130bhp to 260bhp. I wouldn't expect similar from a standard engine. Allards do work some magic on the old TDIs though. :D

Celtic tuning claim they can remap it from 130 to 185. but even if that aint true i'd still b happy wiv 170. how is the mpg effected by doing a remap?

Oh yes... the mpg IMPROVED! Thats based on a comparison of maintaing my driving stye before and after the remap. Ofcourse you will be tempted to 'give it some' so that will have an adverse effect on ur MPG

Thats good then, i was just worried that the mpg will go down. Thats good if it improves cos my new 18s i fitted hav made my mpg go down 3-4.

Is the effects of the remap or are they instant as soon as u use the car when its been done?

Pretty much instant, but it does take a little while to adapt to the new map, called bedding in. 130 can be pushed up to about 175 safely. Done quite a few of these and they do respond very well.
