Hi Guys,

I am getting a growling gggrrrr noise when i accelerate between 3000 rpm and 3500 rpm, but nothing outside of this bandwidth. I first of all thought it sounded like it was coming from the back. But if you listen closer, also sound like its coming from the bay.
Its gotta be the CAT right???? A hole in the exhaust/manifold would happen right through the rev range.

Anybody shed any light?

Cheers

noise travels well in the exhaust, i think the best thing to do is jack the car up and get in under it, on each exhaust box give it a bang with your hand, you should be able to hear one rattle and it will be that making the noise

You think it could be one of the boxes as opposed to the cat? Hope so, cats are expensive!

It could well be a box, cats arent expensive anymore if you get an after market on, just make sure its got the must have euro code on it mate (avoid ebay for cats)

My plan is to fit a decat down pipe anyway. I will only need the cat to put back on for the mot.

Thanks
