central locking

Hey,
Sorry if this has been asked but i cant find an answer anywhere!

I have a 1997 1.8 SE a4 b5 with central locking but no remote.

want to know if i can easily upgrade to remote central locking?

i read somewhere that all audis were built with the remote sensors but audi simply didnt give the key fobs to people who did not select it as an option.

what would i need to upgrade mine to remote?
